Biophytum sensitivum
Plant Species: Biophytum sensitivum
Plant Genus: Biophytum
Plant Family: Oxalidaceae
Native Plant: Kerala, wet areas of Nepal and tropical India
Soil Drainage: With high water retention, we recommend a substrate mix composed of organic matter, perlite, vermiculite, and sphagnum moss.
!Attention: It is recommended to keep the substrate consistently moist but not excessively wet to avoid root necrosis.
Soil pH: Acidic
Fertilizers: Does not require constant fertilization considering the substrate contains organic matter. Fertilizer should be diluted to avoid root burn.
Air Humidity: For proper plant development, a high level of air humidity ranging from 60% to 80% is necessary. Green Mirrors recommends optimal conditions initially while the plant is juvenile to promote acclimatization and development. It can be placed in a display case or under a glass dome. Once the plant exceeds 30 cm and matures, it can acclimate to a humidity of at least 60%.
Temperature: 18-27 degrees Celsius
Light: Indirect to shaded light
Pot Height with Plant: 15-25 cm
Best of luck with caring for it! And don't forget to give us updates about your plant using the hashtag #greenmirrors and tag @green.mirrors in your Instagram posts! We promise to share them in stories.
