Plant species: Dracaena angolensis

Plant genus: Dracaena

Plant family: Asparagaceae

Plant origin: Native to Angola and southern Africa

Soil drainage: We recommend a substrate mix composed of organic material and perlite. It prefers a more compact substrate with good drainage properties.

Soil pH: Acidic

Fertilizers: The plant needs to be fertilized biweekly during the active growth period. Fertilizer should be heavily diluted, especially if using a chemical fertilizer. For organic fertilizer, we recommend diluting it further and applying it with each watering.

Air humidity: It acclimatizes perfectly to the environment of an apartment with at least 35% humidity in the summer. Its thick leaves are protected by a wax layer, which helps retain water and prevents excessive evaporation during hot summer days. The plant is very forgiving if the substrate remains dry for an extended period.

Temperature: 18-30 degrees Celsius

Light: Plenty of indirect light, but it can also tolerate a few hours of direct sunlight

Height (including pot): 40-50 cm

Pot diameter: 12 cm

Sansevieria cylindrica, reclassified as Dracaena, is a hardy plant that enhances the aesthetic of any space thanks to its spear-like cylindrical leaves. It is a must-have among growers and collectors due to its architectural characteristics.

It has a high level of adaptability, being able to tolerate a wide range of temperatures and humidity levels, making it an excellent choice for various indoor environments.

Note! To check the substrate’s moisture level, inserting your finger 2 cm deep into the pot is the best way to measure the soil's moisture.

If you feel the substrate is wet, keep the watering can away for one or two days, and if it feels dry, water the plant.

Note 2! When it comes to watering, we must consider the pot the plant is in, as well as the amount of substrate and its aeration level. For example, do not pour a liter of water into a pot that’s 12 cm in diameter and height, as you will drown the plant's roots. It’s best to discard excess water from the collector tray half an hour after watering.
