Hoya krohniana splash
Plant species: Hoya krohniana
Plant genus: Hoya
Plant family: Apocynaceae
Plant origin: Philippines, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Polynesia, New Guinea.
Soil drainage: We recommend a substrate mix composed of organic substrate and perlite. It prefers a denser substrate with good drainage properties or leca/pon for hydroponics.
Soil pH: Acidic
Fertilizers: The plant needs to be fertilized biweekly during the active growth period. We recommend diluting the fertilizer, especially if using a chemical one. For organic fertilizers, we suggest dilution and administering it with every watering.
Air humidity: Easy to grow in ambient humidity, but not less than 40%.
Temperature: 18-30°C
Light: Plenty of indirect light, though it can tolerate a few hours of direct light.
Height (including pot): 15 cm
Pot diameter: 7x7 cm
Hoya krohniana ‘Splash’ is a fast-growing indoor climbing plant that is relatively easy to care for. It prefers to drape from a hanging pot. Once mature, it will produce fragrant white flowers.
Attention! To check the moisture level of the substrate, inserting your finger 2 cm into the pot is the best moisture gauge.
If the substrate feels wet, keep the watering can away for one or two days, and if it feels dry, water it.
Attention 2! When it comes to watering, we must consider the pot in which the plant is housed, the amount of substrate, and its aeration level. For example, you shouldn't pour a liter of water into a 12 cm diameter and height pot, as it could drown the plant’s roots. The best approach is to discard the excess water from the collection tray about half an hour after watering.
Good luck with plant care! And don’t forget to give us updates on your plant using the hashtag #greenmirrors and tagging @green.mirrors in your Instagram posts! We promise to share them in our stories.
