Monstera lechleriana albo variegata is what we call a “unicorn plant” — a rare and hard-to-find species, with long, narrow leaves featuring white-cream variegation. Like many Monstera species, the leaves grow larger and change shape as the plant matures, developing pinnatifid cuts (long incisions along the leaf edges) and round fenestrations toward the center of the leaf.

Note: To check substrate humidity, insert your finger into the pot to a depth of 2 cm (0.8 inches). If the substrate feels moist, withhold watering for a day or two; if it feels dry, water it.

Note 2: When discussing watering, consider the size of the pot, the amount of substrate, and its aeration. Avoid pouring a liter of water into a pot with a diameter and height of 12 cm (4.7 inches) as it could drown the plant's roots. It's best to remove excess water from the collector tray half an hour after watering.

  • The plant can be mounted on a support pole covered in coconut fiber, allowing aerial roots to attach and resulting in a more vigorous stem and larger leaves. Alternatively, if you prefer the aesthetics of trailing plants, you can let it grow without support, and as the vines lengthen, secure them to walls using special clips.

Good luck with your care! And don't forget to give us updates about your plant using the hashtag #greenmirrors and tagging @green.mirrors in your Instagram posts. We promise to share them in our stories!
